Parental Controls
Parental Controls - Your Virtual Babysitter
We may not be able to control everything our kids do all the time but we do have a degree of control of what they do on the Internet while they're in our home and on our network.
Parental Controls give the Administrator of the home network (You) control over:
- Which sites cannot be accessed
- By which computers
- When
If we want we can also deny access to the Internet entirely to certain computers during certain times and certain days of the week.
Not all routers implement access controls the same way. If this is an important feature to you it may be worth doing some research and maybe even downloading the instruction manual for several different routers to see for yourself exactly which options are available before making your purchase.
Parental Control Settings
This video shows different ways to set up access control on two different routers. This should give you an idea as to how you want to set up access control on your home network and which features to look for.
